How to Use the Chat System

Direct communication with students is key to their success. The built-in chat system allows you to manage all student inquiries in one place.

Prerequisites

• Active students enrolled in your courses.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Accessing Chats

To see your messages:

1. Click on Chats in the main sidebar.
2. The conversation list on the left shows all students who have messaged you recently.

2. Answering Student Questions

1. Select a student from the list to open the chat window.
2. Type your message and hit enter to send.
3. You can see when a message has been delivered and read.

3. File Sharing and Attachments

Sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words:

1. Use the Attachment icon to send images or PDFs to your students within the chat.
2. This is useful for sharing homework corrections or additional study materials.

• Response Time: Responding quickly to student inquiries increases satisfaction and course ratings.
• Common Responses: Keep a document of answers to common questions to speed up your replies.
