How to Manage Promo Codes
Promo codes are a powerful tool to boost your sales and reward your students. You can create discounts for an entire course, a specific lecture, or even a monthly subscription.
Prerequisites
- An active course with published content.
- A package that supports the Promo Codes feature.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Creating New Promo Codes
To generate new discount codes:
- Navigate to your Course and click on the Promo Codes tab.
- Click the New Code button.
- Fill in the code details:
- Code Title: A name to identify this batch of codes.
- Codes Number: How many unique codes you want to generate.
- Number of Use: How many times each unique code can be used (e.g., 1 for single-use).
- Select the Code Type:
- For Course: Unlocks the entire course.
- For Month: Provides access for a specific duration (30 days).
- For Lecture: Unlocks a single specific lecture.
- For Lectures Group: Unlocks a selected set of multiple lectures.
- Click Save to generate the codes.
2. Printing and Exporting Codes
If you sell physical cards or want to distribute codes offline:
- In the Promo Codes list, click the Print icon.
- You can choose to print the codes directly or export them.
- The system allows you to organize codes into a printable format suitable for cards.
3. Monitoring Code Usage
To see who has used your codes:
- Find the code batch in the list.
- Click on the Users/Students icon next to the code.
- You will see a list of students who have activated that specific code and the date of activation.
4. Managing Existing Codes
- Search & Filter: Use the filters to find codes by status (Active/Used) or search by title.
- Copy Link: You can copy a direct activation link to send to a student.
- Delete: If a code was created by mistake or you want to revoke it, use the Delete icon. Note that deleting a code prevents new activations but does not revoke access from students who already used it.
Tips
- Single-Use for Security: If selling physical cards, set "Number of Use" to 1 to ensure each code represents one paid student.
- Lecture-Specific Promotions: Use "For Lecture" codes to give students a free "trial" of a specific premium lecture.
- Track Campaigns: Use different titles for different batches (e.g., "Summer Sale 2024") to track which marketing efforts are most effective.
