How to Track Student Progress
Ukkera provides deep insights into how your students are interacting with your content. You can monitor everything from their daily activity to their scores on specific exams.
Prerequisites
- Active students enrolled in a course.
- Video lectures or tasks (exams/quizzes) published in your course.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Viewing Individual Student Progress
To get a high-level overview of a student's performance:
- Navigate to the Student List for your course.
- Click the Progress icon (bars chart) next to a student's name.
- A modal will open showing three key metrics:
- Lectures Seen: The number of lectures the student has opened vs. the total.
- Videos Watch Time: The total hours of video watched vs. the total duration of the course.
- Answered Tasks: The number of exams or quizzes the student has completed.
2. Detailed Video Watch Time
For a deeper dive into video consumption:
- Inside the student's progress modal, navigate to the Content or Lecture List tab.
- Click on the Watch Time Details icon.
- You can view:
- Daily Progress: How many minutes the student watched each day.
- Lecture Progress: Exactly which percentage of each individual video has been watched.
- Offline Downloads: If enabled, see which videos the student has downloaded for offline viewing.
3. Monitoring Exam (Task) Results
To see how students are performing on your assessments:
- Go to the Course Content (Lectures) page.
- Find the lecture that contains the exam/task and click the Statistics icon (it looks like a document or chart).
- Here you can view:
- Total Participants: How many students attempted the exam.
- Score Distribution: A breakdown of how many students achieved different grade ranges (e.g., 90-100%, 80-90%).
- Question Analysis: See which specific questions students are struggling with the most.
- Individual Scores: View a list of students and their specific grades, with the option to review their individual answers.
4. Group Analytics
To compare performance across different cohorts:
- Navigate to the Groups page.
- Select a group to see its collective statistics.
- This helps you identify if a particular teaching location or class time is lagging behind or excelling.
Tips
- Identify At-Risk Students: Filter your student list by "Last View" or low "Watch Time" to proactively reach out to students who aren't engaging.
- Data-Driven Teaching: Use the Question Analysis in Exams to identify topics that need more explanation in your next live session.
- Exporting Scores: You can often export these statistics to Excel for offline record-keeping or center management.
